I was reading the other day how these fundies are pushing to replace evelution with creationism in the school science classes!! They refer to evelution as being a theory, but what the hell do they call creation? A belief that is based on faith and not on science. I guess they would love to take us back to the middle ages.

i was reading a book on early church fathers and early christian doctrines.
i could not put the book down.
i noticed that some of the early church fathers "denounced" war frowned upon celebrating holidays and also "birthdays" some of their arguments sounded exactly like jw's and if you did not know you would have thought you were talking to some jw's.
I can't believe anyone that believes in fairytails, so yes I wouldnt't give too much of what any of them say crediblity....That goes for born againers or JW's.

Good luck with this one. I recall the JW saying how difficult it is in Muslim countries to convert the people to Christianity. They just don't let up.

I think the ring must have been his good luck charm or something, but in his heightened state of emotions I can see where this is possible. He is suffering from a lot of stress from the war and wanted to keep something in his life intact.
This is possible that due to the emotional stress of the situation a person may not think rationally but where the hell were the doctors brains at that amputated his finger? The ring can be replaced but the finger can't. Just too idiotic for my liking but again this is the same mentality that brought you the Jessica Lynch story.

I did read this article and was waiting for someone to comment about it. I have to agree, the guy does not have much upstairs. I know from taking first aid that there are times where if its a choice between a ring and the finger, the ring gets cut off. It wouldn't have ruined the ring, all they do is make a cut on the back of the ring, spread it open so they can get the ring off of the finger. A good goldsmith could weld it back together that no one could tell it had been cut. I guess he thought that was "chivalry". Just shows you what type of uneducated idiots are running around over there!!!
